Biography: George Lambert’s early work was influenced by that of John Wootton. He also studied the landscape style of Gaspard Dughet. Lambert painted both landscapes and topographical studies. Other artists, notably Hogarth, often painted the figures in his paintings. He also collaborated with Samuel Scott.
