Biography:
Daniel Chester French became famous with his commemorative bronze statue, The Minute Man. After gaining a reputation in the United States, he traveled to France and continued to produce public monuments. His most recognized work was the marble statue of Abraham Lincoln located at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
